The Earthwise Vinyl Window
Group celebrates “Earth Week”
We at PVC Industries Inc. are pleased to announce that our window
alliance (one of the biggest in the U.S.) will be celebrating “Earth
Week”. While some people will be trumpeting just one day,
our window and door alliance will have a week long celebration.
Hopefully this awareness and recognition of a major problem (climate
change) facing all of us, will help ease the problem. You can go

in the Earthwise Window Group trying to help our environment.
“Earth Week” Agenda by day
Monday: Kick off day April 21st
We will be handing out t-shirts to employees and customers to promote
how we build earth friendly windows and doors that don’t require
cutting down trees to make our products. We will also discuss and
educate them on how energy efficient our products really are.
Tuesday: Earth Day April 22nd
Official Earth Day!! Promoted by www.earthday.org. As a group that
day, our main focus will be recycling and how as a group we can
do a better job of recycling at our individual plants. Each manufacturing
plant on that day will sign a pledge to recycle the following items
– Vinyl, Glass, Aluminum, Cardboard and Paper. Some of our
Earthwise members are currently doing a “Waste Audit”
of their plants and will share what they have learned with the rest
of the group.
Wednesday: Safety Day April 23rd
Safety committee’s will be formed in all plants if they don’t
already have one. A safety meeting with all employees will take
place discussing the importance of safety in the workplace and their
safety record. Environmental safety issues will also take place
along with how that plants foot print will affect their company’s
future.
Thursday: Low-E Day April 24th
All of the Earthwise member fabricators will only make windows and
doors with Low-E glass in them. We as a group will calculate the
total number of windows and doors produced by the group than we
can calculate the total energy savings to the end user. Saving the
consumer thousands of barrels of oil.
Friday: Arbor Day: April 25th
Our goal is to plant 1000 trees in the U.S. Each member will purchase
a tree for every employee they have. You can go to arborday.org/shopping/giveatree/list.cfm
, by using this program a tree is planted in a national forest for
you. If you wish to plant a tree yourself you can do that as well.
